Get to Know Mark
Q: What gets you most excited/passionate about your job right now? Any examples?
A: The people I work with! The product team’s passion for their work is incredible. The work they’ve done on VikingCloud’s Cyber Risk Score is one of the primary reasons I joined the company. VikingCloud’s features that help with communication among junior cyber practitioners, advanced practitioners, and business owners are unique in the industry and I’m excited to represent these innovative products.
VikingCloud stood apart for me in terms of reputation, adoption, leadership, and a portfolio that makes sense; one supplier, with aggregated security, risk, and compliance data, across security event and information management (SIEM), endpoint, intrusion detection system (IDS)/intrusion prevention system (IPS), firewall, and connectivity is a huge value to organizations.
Q: What is the primary challenge prospective clients are experiencing when you first speak to them?
A: An overload of data across numerous attack surfaces, coupled with insufficient integration and personnel to manage it, hinders organizations from staying proactive. These challenges can be overwhelming for cyber teams and they’re often looking for resources and expert partners to help create and implement plans to ensure their organizations are secure and compliant.
Q: If you could give one piece of advice to prospective VikingCloud customers, what would it be?
A: Keep your head up! You’re fighting the good fight. You stop more attacks than you don’t, and you don’t get enough recognition. I acknowledge that receiving numerous marketing emails and sales calls can be frustrating. However, our role as sales professionals is to offer you value and insights before any financial commitment is made. Use us when you have questions. Use us to help you project manage. We’re here to help. The tech landscape that enables our day-to-day activities is constantly evolving and technology and service partners like VikingCloud are here to help us all be better at our jobs.
Mark is passionate about helping VikingCloud customers, as well as prospective customers! His enthusiasm is contagious, and he is known in the industry and at VikingCloud for his relationship-building skills and industry knowledge. We are thrilled he’s on the VikingCloud team.
